OUR STORY
We're Building Something Rockport Has Never Had

ON THE BUILDING
"I chose this space because it is the place where deadlines were being met, stories were being created and told, and communities were being built. We are all doing that same work."
I've been watching Rockport grow for a while now. Not from the outside looking in; from inside the community, close enough to see what's happening, and close enough to see what's ready to be built.
Rockport has always had the heart. The work ethic. The kind of people willing to put in the time and build something real in a town that rewards that kind of commitment. What it has been missing is a place designed around that energy — a professional environment that meets the ambition of the people already here.
I moved my media company, Asturian Media, into the former Rockport Pilot building first. The moment I was inside — in the space where that paper was made — something clicked. This building carried the energy of deadlines met and stories told and a community documented with care. That energy doesn't leave a room. It stays in the walls.
And I knew the next chapter of this building wasn't just going to be my company. It was going to be a home for every entrepreneur and creative in Rockport who needed a room like this.
THE BUILDING
Where Rockport's stories have always been made.
The Rockport Pilot told this community's story for generations. In the original pressroom of this building, reporters met deadlines, editors shaped narratives, and the town's record was kept with care and craft.
The press went quiet. But the building remembers what it felt like to do real work inside its walls. The Pressroom is here to honor that; and to carry it forward.
In this space, Rockport's next generation of entrepreneurs, creatives, and business owners are writing their own stories. Different work. Same walls. Same commitment to building something worth building.
ON THE COMMUNITY
"Because this is a space for entrepreneurs, you can be sure everyone there is building something. This isn't like networking. This is like being in an office of like-minded people who are working on something right now."
THE PARTNER
Built to last with the right people at the table.
The Pressroom welcomed Joanne Soward as a founding partner; her addition signals that this is not just an opening. It's being built to last.
Together, the team behind The Pressroom is committed to building something Rockport has never had; a permanent, professional home for the people doing the work of building in this town.
“Rockport has always had the people. Now it has the place.”
Follow the build in real time.
We will be sharing every step of the buildout on Facebook; giving Rockport a front row seat to what's being created inside these walls.
